Design + Fashion = “Fashio” Boutique Hotel, My Design ๐Ÿ’—

This fashionable boutique hotel named “Fashio”, which I’ve planned and designed,ย has beenย “born” out of an idea to createย a sequence of hosting spaces that would haveย a special “fashionable” presence leading to a memorable hotel accomodation and to wonderful long-term memories for fashion & design lovers.

Planning principles:

Due to the corner location of the site, the building’s geometry has been chosen to be cubical and almost symmetrical from the two main facades, whichย creates an “inviting” entrance from both of them. The dark “strip” windows on both sides of the two white facades combine the horizontal and vertical geometry, and create kind of a black and white facade “texture” associated with the black and white texture of the frame-shaped entrance and the flooring tiles of the main space.

The large black and white entrance frame “wraps” the building’s corner and accentuates the main lobby space and the whereabouts of the entrance.

The main space is two storeys high but from the outside seems as three storeys high, due to the purple passage on the third floor with a continuous glazing from the bottom of the lobby to the top of the third floor, which makes it possible to see through. This purple passage creates a fashionable experience of “seeing and be seen” – just like the “Haute Couture” runway shows, and attracts both hotel guests and the passersby.

From the outside and the inside of the main lobby space, the decorative curved “wall” with the vertical elements creates an “airy” partition between the entrance lobby and the fashionable restaurant space situated on the other side of it. These vertical elements “function” variously throughout this partition on the both floors of the lobby – at some places allowing entrance to the restaurant and at others creating openings such as big and curvy “windows”. This “airy” curved partition creates kind of a space “leakage” between the lobby and the restaurant – on one hand, it continues the lobby and visually enlarges both of the spaces, on the other hand, it separates the two and defines them.

Designing principles:

The design of the hotel is fashionably modern – the combination between the vertical and horizontal geometries, the use of the transparent and printed glass surfaces, the combination between the purple textured colorfulness with bright yellow strokes and the mixture of black and white geometrical textures – create fashionably designed “conotations” in every space – from macro to micro.

The corridors that lead to the guests’ rooms are black-white-yellow palletted with the purple amorphous textureย combinations. The guest rooms look spacious thanks to the glass partitions between the sleeping areas and the adjacent bathing spaces.

The bold color combinations of the whole ensamble contribute to the uniquely fashionable experienceย resulting in the memorable hotel accomodation and manyย “Haute Couture” design moments.. ๐Ÿ˜‰
